"I moved into a 4,600 square foot house in 2006. This was the biggest place I'd ever lived in. It's pretty nice, catherdral foyer and family room, lots of room for a growing family. After my first year of level billing with natural gas, I decided to lower my thermostat 2 degrees to get the bill down down in the coming year. And I did, I used 20% less therms (3,500 to 3,000) but when I got my next level billing amount, it went up 30%. How could my bill go up when my usage went down ? (this represented a 50% swing). I had been researching alternatve energies and I decided to get two GeoThermal units. Not only has my electricity usage gone down in the summer months by 30%, my natural gas bill went from $385 per month to $8...that's right, $8. I only use gas for the clothes dryer and cooking. Geo hot water is supplemented by a brand new electric water heater. Not only do I sing the praises of Geo energy to anyone I know but my Waterfurnace system works great. And now, instead of dreading the gas bill every month, I look forward to it to see how low can I go (and my electric bill too). And I get a little laugh every time...."

"With a brand new all electric home that's twice the size of my previous home, I figured I'd pay well over $100 a month for electricity. I was wrong. I'm averaging less than $100 per month. The WaterFurnace system delivers better comfort. It doesn't have the big temperature swings that natural gas furnaces have. It's a much better system and has saved me a lot of money."

"I know that geothermal is what I recommend to all those I know that are looking either to replace an existing system, or are building new homes. Keep up the great work and thanks for being there for us."

"At first, the idea of moving into an all-electric home worried me, but it turned out to be extremely cost effective. Our total electric bill averages around $50 a month. My husband and I were both shocked at how inexpensive it was, especially compared to natural gas, which we used in our previous home."

"We chose a WaterFurnace system because it's a top-of-the-line system. We're very happy with it. The air is always clean and fresh. And the best thing is it's worry free. I can set the thermostat on 70 and no matter if it's 20 degrees outside or 110 in the shade, I don't have to mess with this system at all. And it doesn't cost us an arm and a leg to heat and cool."

Carol W.

"I would not hesitate to recommend the geothermal system. I especially like the fact that on the beach we will not have to replace a condenser - ever."

We came to Ashe Co. to build our dream log home and chose Evans Heating & Cooling to install a Water Furnace system. This part of our 2 1/2 year odyssey was one we never ever had to worry about getting done. Mark and his crew proved to be dependable, knowledgeable, and always motivated. Our geothermal unit is perfect! The comfort it provides throughout our home is far superior to all HVAC units we have had in the past.....thanks to our friends, Mark Evans and crew.

I just wanted to let you know the performance of the new geothermal system that you installed in our vacation home in October 2010 has greatly exceeded our expectations! Evans Heating & Cooling did a super job of sizing and installing the new system. All of the work plus the cleanup was done in a timely and professional manner.

With the propane furnace gone, my son and I encapsulated the crawl. The cost to run our old furnace and electric hot water tank was about $2,000 for the 2009-2010 heating season and we set the thermostat at 55 degrees when we're not there. This season we expect our electric bill for both geothermal and hot water to be about $500. The combination of converting to geothermal and encapsulating the crawl space we realize about $1,500 in savings this year.

In terms of the pay-back period, by being able to take advantage of the federal and state geothermal tax credits and considering the likelihood of future propane cost increases, we estimate it will take about 6 years to recoup our investment.

We never had air conditioning before and after last summer we will certainly welcome it this year.

We could not be more satisfied.

Thanks again for all you did.

I am writing to discuss my experience with Evans Heating & Cooling...In summary I am completely happy with both the system itself and the work that Mark Evans and his crew did...The first full year of operation was from December 15, 2009 to December 15, 2010 and my total electric bill was just at $800 for everything...In summary this was an excellent experience which will continue to pay me back each month and increases the value of our house substantially. I highly recommend Mark Evans to you.
